Isaiah Timothy “Long Hair Jim” Courtright led a life that was characterized as living on both sides of the law. As Fort Worth grew from an isolated ranching and cattle center, Jim’s legend grew from a family man to one of the most feared gun figures in the West. The book concerning Jim was written by Robert K. DeArment, a long-time student of the West and its gunfighters. He is a member of several groups which makes a life-long careers of studying the establishment of law on the frontier. Of course, this means the study of the ones which made law enforcement and established it on a dangerous plain. The life of Jim Courtright was not as it has been told for years and written.
