Dorothy Hendrix Marberry, 94, of Spring, passed away on Jan. 11, 2025. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 10:30 a.m. at Woodland Cemetery in Kirvin. Ernest Fridge is the officiant and Chase Hasara will be the worship leader. Family visitation will be held prior to the graveside service, starting at 10 a.m. at the cemetery.

Virginia Lee Griffin Collie

Virginia Lee Griffin Collie of Wortham passed away on Jan.15, 2025, at Parkview Regional Hospital at the age of 83. She was born in Sherman to Henry DuPont Dewey and Edith Hale Griffin on Sept. 16, 1941. She moved to Teague when she was six years old with her family when her father became the head electrician at the town’s power plant. She graduated from Teague High School in 1960 as Valedictorian. She went on to business school in Waco. She married Lee Wayne Collie on Nov. 26,1960, and they had two daughters, Aleatris and Jennifer.
