The countless hours lifting weights, going through conditioning drills and sweating in the hot Texas summer heat have come to an end for the area’s athletic teams.
Current holders of season tickets for Blackcat football home games will be sent an email with a link to renew their passes online, but the window is short (Aug. 2-13). Season pass holders may also renew in person at the Mexia ISD Administration Building, 616 N. Red River, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on those days.
Wortham is in what is arguably the toughest Class 2A district in the state. So, it’s no wonder the Bulldogs are picked to finish fourth in District 10-2A, Division II by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine.
Nothing like sports to break political tension, or to move it from fights over civics to fights over territorial and school loyalties.
