The Mexia football team slugged it out with West on both sides of the ball in their first scrimmage of the season Friday at Blackcat Field.
Wortham’s Riley Winstead picked up where she left off last year, when she was the Newcomer of the Year in District 14-2A.
Blackcat football coach Brady Bond speaks to the Rotary Club of Mexia at its weekly meeting Thursday. Among other things, Bond talked about his goals for the football program, which include giving a strong showing in the classroom. Mexia has its first scrimmage of the year today against West.
