Barbecue cook-off fundraiser by Veteran Partners of Texas. Entry fee is $80 for three meats (brisket, pork ribs and chicken breast/halves), and beans. Add-ons (potato salad, cake, “your choice” dessert) entry fee is $10 for cooks cooking meat; for those not cooking meats, add-ons are $15 for one and $25 for two. All proceeds go to assist veterans and their families in the local communities. Friday is for setup. Saturday starts at 10 a.m. Judging for the potato salad, cake and desserts starts at 2 p.m. Judging for the meat begins at 4 p.m. Barbecue plates will be sold for $15 each: two meats, beans, potato salad, dessert and tea served immediately afterward, probably about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, until 8 p.m.
