Although last week’s Mexia City Council continued in session for more than three hours, 35 items were addressed under the leadership of Eric Garretty, the city manager. Councilmen were patient and diligent in their considerations, asking questions as needed. Some of the items that were considered include the following.
State Rep. Kyle Kacal, a lifetime rancher and longtime Brazos Valley resident and representative of District 12, will address the Annual Mexia Chamber of Commerce Meeting.
The Mexia High School Blackcat Band participated in the Region UIL Marching contest at Midway High School in Waco last Saturday and received a Division 3.
The Wortham High School Chapter of the National Honor Society inducted six new members in a candle lighting ceremony Sunday, Oct. 3. The new inductees included Preston Batts, Dana Calame, Kaydence Carr, Grecia Juarez, Grace McCoslin, and Michelle Misini.
