Mexia-area residents, who reside in the country, found a very rare animal—an albino raccoon—in one of their ground traps they had set to catch other, unwanted critters.

Now that the deadline has passed for filing to run for any Limestone County offices, 16 men and women are gearing up their campaigns to win the March 1, 2022, primary election. There are only three county offices for which the incumbents will have challengers, and the remaining seven will not. All county-office candidates are Republicans. No one from the Democratic Party or any other minor party filed for office.
