There will be non-stop baseball at Blackcat Field for three days as the Blackcat Classic baseball tournament kicks off Thursday and will last through Saturday.
Last year the Mexia baseball team experienced a youth movement with a number of freshmen stepping into starting roles. They tied for fourth place in District 18-4A and were eliminated in a play-in game by Waco La Vega, 2-0.
