There are high school football teams in the state of Texas that are expected to play for state championships well into December every year.
The Wortham boys’ basketball team held on to gain its first victory of the season with a 43-35 decision over Meridian at the Wortham High School gym Tuesday afternoon.
The Wortham girls’ basketball team lost a pair of games early this week before Thanksgiving.
Two Mexia volleyball players were named to the All-District 18-4A first team and two more made the second team in postseason honors.
