In its final tune-up before heading into district play, the Mexia boys soccer team lost to Waxahachie Life, 2-0, at Blackcat Stadium on Friday night.
The Mexia girls soccer team scored two goals within a minute in the second half and held on for the first victory in school history, 3-2 over Venua at Blackcat Field on Tuesday.
Mexia sophomore Prince Banks ripped the cords for 29 points as the Blackcats defeated Palestine, 60-50, in a District 19- 4A basketball game at the Mexia High School gym on Tuesday night.
Earlier this season, Fernando Navarro became the first freshman in Mexia soccer history to record a hat trick. On Tuesday, he did it again.
