In a battle of the Bulldogs, Tioga’s volleyball team barked the loudest Thursday night as Wortham fell 3-1 (25-23, 20-25, 18-25, 13-25) in a 2A Region II Area round matchup.
It’s been a while since the Mexia football team had so many reasons to celebrate in a game. So, when the Blackcats began to jump around through a torrent of big plays and points in the second half at Bullard Friday, Coach Aaron Nowell was not going to let that energy be stifled.
A week ago the Mexia football team was looking at the possibility of missing the playoffs.
Bremond did to Wortham what the Bulldogs usually do to other teams in a 34-12 victory at Bremond on Friday night.
Coming out of halftime Friday night trailing the Bullard Panthers 31-13 things looked pretty bleak for the Blackcats’ playoff hopes.
