The Wortham football team’s season came to an end with a hard-fought 40-36 loss to Price Carlisle in the area round of the Class 2A playoffs at Wildcat Stadium in Palestine on Friday, Nov. 18.

Mexia opened its volleyball season with a three-set loss at Wortham on Tuesday, Aug. 9.
The evening began with the band playing “Pomp and Circumstance” as 27 Wortham High School students strode into the gym.
In a battle of the Bulldogs, Tioga’s volleyball team barked the loudest Thursday night as Wortham fell 3-1 (25-23, 20-25, 18-25, 13-25) in a 2A Region II Area round matchup.
