The Mexia Blackcats may not have beaten Gilmer in their bi-district playoff game at Lindale on Friday night, but they had enough scoring chances that they could have made the No. 2 team in the state sweat a little bit.
The Mexia girls basketball team’s opening game of the season wasn’t pretty, according to Coach Carlos Daniels. But he’s not worried about style points, he’s concerned with the bottom line — wins and losses.
The Mexia football team lost to Canton 55-26 in their regular-season finale Friday night.
Mexia will be playing David to Gilmer’s Goliath when the teams meet in a Class 4A bi-district matchup in Lindale at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
