The Coolidge football team will face a stiff test when it opens District 12-1A, Division I play at home against Abbott on Friday. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.

Robinson at Mexia, 4:30 p.m. Wortham at Hubbard, 4 p.m.
It’s a good thing it was Homecoming for the Mexia Blackcats, with lots of pretty girls in pretty dresses.
The Mexia volleyball team lost a five-set marathon to Madisonville at the Mexia High School gym Tuesday night.
The Wortham volleyball team continued to roll through district play with a three-set sweep of Marlin on Tuesday. The win was Wortham’s ninth in 10 district outings.
