Kendrick Johnson has come back home to Mexia. After coaching football at Waco Connally the past five years, Johnson was hired recently to be an assistant football coach for the Blackcats.
There is something being built in Mexia whose culmination will not be evident for years, something that will be manifested on Friday nights during fall athletic seasons later this decade, and beyond.
The final youth football mini-camp and football and cheerleading sign-up of the summer will be Thursday from 7-8 p.m. at Blackcat Field.
Chances to sign up for the Lone Star Soccer Association’s (LSSA) fall season are dwindling.
