The Coolidge volleyball team will play a bi-district match against Greenville Pioneer Technology & Arts Academy (PTAA) on Tuesday, Nov. 1. The time and venue have yet to be determined.
Mexia got the jump on stateranked Fairfield in all three sets of their volleyball match at the Mexia High School gym on Tuesday, Oct. 25. But Fairfield roared back in all three sets to sweep the Ladycats in their final match of the season. Set scores were 25-16, 25-10 and 25-23. Mexia finished with a 2-12 record in District 20-3A. Fairfield won the district championship with a 13-1 slate. Mexia scored the first two points of the opening set on a kill by Kei’Niya Thornton and a net violation by Fairfield. Fairfield rebounded to take the lead, but Mexia stayed close throughout much of the set. Arianna Richardson handcuffed Fairfield with a serve that was not returned over the net and the Ladycats were within 14-13.
