Doris Mae Pope, of Mexia, passed away Jan. 11, 2021, in Waco, at the age of 83. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 16, at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev.
Robert “Bob” Allen Whiteman, of Streetman, passed away Jan. 4, 2021, in Mexia, at the age of 82. A private graveside service was held at the Birdston Cemetery, near Streetman, on Jan. 6. Pastor David Filis, officiated and Jamie Filis sang “Amazing Grace.” Bob was a member of the Stewards Mill Church.
Funeral services for Gary Wayne Kelley, 42, were held Tuesday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Teague. Brother Justin Colquette officiated. Interment followed at Salem Cemetery near Freestone.
Gene Ray Dolen passed away Jan. 11, 2021, in Mexia at the age of 57. Graveside services were to be held at 4 p.m., Jan. 12, in the Seale-Round Prairie Cemetery.
William Alfred Sims, of Mexia, passed away in New Braunfels, on Jan. 11, 2021, from COVID-19 complications, at the age of 81. Graveside services will be held on Friday, Jan. 15, at l p.m. in Lost Prairie Cemetery, with the Rev. Shane Norcross and the Rev. Cliff Gravitt officiating. Jeremy Sims, Ryan Chilcoat, Scott Holmes, Brent Holmes, Todd Ward and Dennis Campbell will serve as pallbearers.
