GRACIE LEWIS POTTER

Gracie Lewis Potter passed away Nov. 23, 2020, in Houston, at the age of 86. She was born Aug. 15, 1934, in Navarro County, to Henry Clyde and Grace Eady Lewis. Gracie was the youngest daughter of a family full of girls! She grew up in Tehuacana and graduated from Mexia High School. During her lifetime, she lived in Dallas, San Antonio, Hubbard and Houston, which was her home the majority of her life. She retired from Mobil Steel Corporation in Houston after 20 years of service as supervisor of the Financial Department.

WILLIAM ‘BILL’ GEORGE MCCULLOUGH

William “Bill” George McCullough, longtime Mexia businessman and civic leader, passed away at his home on Dec. 1, 2020, at the age of 71. Bill was born April 26, 1949, in Mexia, to V.A. and Sophie Busby McCullough. He graduated from Mexia High School, Class of 1967, where he was an outstanding athlete, well thought of by his classmates, and voted “Most Handsome” his senior year. Continuing his education, he received his BBA from Stephen F. Austin in 1971, where he was also a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity.

RAYMOND LLOYD PEVEHOUSE

Raymond Loyd Pevehouse, of Mexia, passed away Dec. 3, 2020, at the age of 85. Raymond was born Feb. 19, 1935, in Personville, to James William and Lillie Reynolds Pevehouse. He worked most of his life as a ranch hand, something he really enjoyed.
