Funeral services for Jimmy Wade Thomas, 84, of Mexia, were held Sunday, Jan. 17, at McWhorter Funeral Home with Brother Dicky Mauk officiating. Private interment followed at Hopewell Cemetery.
Danny W. Smith passed away on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, at the age of 74. He was born on July 24, 1946, in Hubbard, to Roger W. Smith and Frances Natelle Gauntt Smith.
James Alton Porter passed away on Jan. 16, 2021, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia at the age of 93.
James was a loving father and grandfather.
Doris Mae Pope, of Mexia, passed away Jan. 11, 2021, in Waco, at the age of 83. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 16, at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Shane Norcross officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Craig Everett, Chris Curry, Stephen Chaney, Justin Chaney, Craig Chaney, Matthew Chaney and George Graham will serve as pallbearers.
