Man sentenced to 37 years for cattle theft
William “Willie” Rittenbaugh, a 49-year-old man from Mount Calm, pleaded guilty to five felony charges spanning Hill and Limestone counties this week following a long investigation led by Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association Special Ranger Marvin Wills.
Limestone County Historical Commission finds correct cemetery name
The Limestone County Historical Commission solved a mystery and made a correction to its record of the name of a county cemetery recently. This action was reported upon at the CHC’s July 7 meeting, when the group also learned about two Historic Texas Cemetery applications, voted to order additional copies of county cemetery books, create an exhibit of the Rosenwald schools and took care of other business on historic matters.
Master Gardeners complete St. Mary’s Rectory flower beds
The Master Gardener project to design and complete the flower beds at St. Mary’s Catholic Church’s new rectory and Education Building is now finished, with the dozen volunteers planting the new flowers, bushes and trees on Tuesday, July 14.
