A sharp-eyed Mexia woman noticed a man she thought was trying to break into or steal her car last week, but she got a Mexia police officer involved and the man was arrested.
Residents of the Mexia State Supported Living Center have been quarantined since mid-March, not allowed to go into public nor even get visits from volunteers or family members.
James Allen Smith was only supposed to be at a Texas prison for a matter of months, sentenced to a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program after he pled guilty to a repeat DWI offense in January.
