Coolidge man holds fishing event to honor late friend
When Bill Ward’s friend James Parker died of COVID in January, Ward knew he wanted to do something to memorialize Parker’s life. Parker and Ward were friends through the Fort Worth Fly Fishers Club, since Ward met them in Junction 12 years ago, when Ward was part of a cooking team serving the group.
MPD says they still cannot arrest man scaring women
Reports continue to come in on Facebook and by word of mouth about a “creepy guy” who allegedly goes into businesses in both Mexia and Groesbeck, asking questions and acting suspicious to the point where women feel threatened.
An easy STAAR test question
During a STAAR test pep rally Wortham ISD staff member Jordan Jendel found herself taking a pop quiz of sorts. She was called to center court and students began bringing her roses, as “Marry You,” by Bruno Mars played. Another staff member, Bradley Trantham, then walked out on the court and popped the question. She answered, “Yes.” The two were introduced by a co-worker and have been inseparable since.
