The Rotary Club of Mexia bridges in Hughes City Park are covered with a thick layer of snow, as is the ground they cross.

The Caritas Food Pantry in downtown Mexia has several inches of pristine snow in front, where usually there would normally be a line around the corner on the third Tuesday of the month. Caritas was not able to distribute food due to the weather.

The United States Post Office vans stand behind the post office building Tuesday morning, waiting to be thawed out. The USPS was closed Monday for President’s Day, allowing the snow to accumulate. No word on whether they will be able to fulfill their motto: “Neither rain, nor sleet ...”

Tennis anyone? Doubtful. The courts at Mexia High School are covered in snow and ice on Monday afternoon. All sporting events have been postponed.
