The Mexia High School cheerleaders made their debut at the UIL Spirit State Championship last weekend, showcasing their hard work and dedication throughout the football season. This year’s varsity squad took center stage, performing their routine for the first time at a UIL competition.
Community members who have experienced the death of a family member or friend may be searching for support in navigating through a season of grief. All are invited attend the fall session of GriefShare, a grief support program beginning Thursday, Feb. 6. This non-denominational program features Christ-centered, biblical teaching that focuses on topics associated with the death of a loved one. The DVD seminar features nationally respected grief experts and real-life stories of people, followed by a small group discussion about what was presented on the DVD.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dreamt of breaking down barriers and ending discrimination based on skin color, religion, personal beliefs, and much more. Indeed, Dr. King was a visionary and a leader whose life was tragically cut short before he could see the many fruits of his labor.
