Filing for the May 3 local elections in cities and school districts started Jan. 15 and ends Feb. 14 In the City of Mexia, the seats now held by Mayor Geary Smith and City Council members Butch Newhouse (District 1); Joyce Johnson (District 3); and Delonia Williams (District 4); will be on the ballot.
