Civic Pride Award
The Mexia Garden Club proudly awards the Civic Pride Award to Gibbs Memorial Library. While visiting Coffee Cabaret across the street from the library, the judge caught in her eye the beautiful colors in front of the library. Turns out the flowers were lantana blooming in January. There were purple, white and yellow. In the mist of the flowers were some monarch butterflies pollinating the flowers. The Mexia Garden Club is still proud of the bench it placed under the tree for the convenience of the visitors to the library to read a book. The library staff Tesiah Sours and Catherine Webster joined garden club member Patty Manley in the picture.
