The Mexia school board at its specially called meeting Monday, Aug. 9, heard a proposal for a 2.66 cent rate cut in school taxes. A public hearing on the MISD budget and tax rate will be held Monday, Aug. 23.
Thursday was only the second day of school at Mexia High, and sports fans got to have a glimpse of the new football team – and also the volleyball team, cross-country runners, cheerleaders and many coaches.
The county budget was once again the main focus for Limestone County commissioners at their meeting on Aug. 10, with County Judge Richard Duncan leading a budget workshop after addressing regular agenda items.
