In her final high school track meet, Coolidge’s Amaya Brown broke a state-meet record. She did not win a gold medal, but she was a record-breaker at the UIL Class 1A State Track & Field Championships at Mike Myers Stadium in Austin on Saturday.
With the threat of COVID-19 still plaguing the world earlier this year, the Mexia football awards banquet went viral rather than in-person, as coaches announced individual awards via Youtube.
The Mexia baseball team went through a youth movement this season. Four freshmen and two sophomores were among the starters for much of the campaign.
