Mexia’s Hunter Murphy and Groesbeck’s Memphis Waddle engaged in a good, old-fashioned pitchers’ duel when the teams met at Blackcat Field Friday night in the Blackcat Classic baseball tournament.

Burns’ penalty kick lifts Ladycats to soccer win over La Vega; ’Cats fall

Aireanna Burns converted a penalty kick with 20 minutes remaining to lift the Mexia girls soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Waco La Vega and into a tie for fourth place in District 18-4A.
