Four Mexia football players were named first team All-District 8-3A, Division I for the 2022 season. A host of others were on the second team and earned honorable mention.
Two Coolidge football players earned All-District 12-1A, Division I first team honors on both sides of the ball and another was a defensive selection for the 2022 season.
Landon Anderson caught fire and scored nearly half of Mexia’s points in a 57-52 Blackcat victory over Waco La Vega at McClennan Community College on Tuesday, Dec. 20.
It was a clean sweep for the Wortham boys and girls basketball teams on Dec. 13, when they hosted -- and defeated -- Avalon at Wortham High School.
