The Mexia girls basketball team pitched a shutout for nearly the entire first half and rolled to a 61-11 victory over Elkhart at the Mexia High School gym Tuesday, Jan. 3.
Sometimes, a team attempting to hold onto a lead in the waning minutes of a basketball game will spread the floor and go into a stall to preserve the margin.
While many basketball teams participated in tournaments during Christmas break, the Wortham boys and girls teams did not.
