April 8, 1940, what a wonderful day! On this day, Lola B. Sims was born to the late Johnnie Lee Sims and Leola Smith Calhoun. She grew up in a loving home and formed an unbreakable bond with her family. Although Lola was the oldest of the family, she was wise beyond her years and would later become the pillar of the family.
Mrs. Jettie Rose Isadore Mullen passed away Sept. 13, 2021. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home Chapel, 406 Monroe St., Teague. The Rev.
Herman Lee Pinkard was born in Mexia on March 28, 1942, to Jewel Gee Jones and Roddie Pinkard. As a child, Herman was a member of the Boy Scouts and later became an Explorer Scout. It was during this time that he perfected his ability to read maps and utilize a compass, both skills which would later come in handy during his service as an Army platoon sergeant.
