James King was born Feb. 14, 1957, in Ellis County, to the parentage of J.B. King Sr. and Prince Ella King. He was raised by his grandparents, Clifton and Isabella Becks. He graduated from Leon High School in Jewett. He joined the United States Army in 1977 and received an honorable discharge in 1979.
On June 20, 2023, William Sumpter Frazier II was called home to be with his Lord and Savior. “Sumpter” was born Aug. 8, 1941, in Mexia to William Sumpter Frazier and Johnie Ione (Archer) Frazier.
With aching and sorrowful hearts, her family regrets to share that Deborah “Debbie” Wynn (Weihausen) Erskine passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bryan/ College Station.
Michael David “Mike” Hughes, longtime Mexia Barber passed away, peacefully, in his home in Tehuacana on July 1, 2023, at the age of 75.
