Public Health Expo offers free health screenings to the community
Residents of all ages are invited to attend a Community Public Health Expo at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Mexia Civic Center.
There will be free health screening for blood pressure, glucose, diabetes and cancer education, according to the event flier.
The event is hosted by the Heart of Texas Area Agency on Aging, Limestone County Judge Richard Duncan and in partnership with the Public Health Region 7 and AgriLife Extension.
Over 25 agencies and providers may be present at the event such as Veterans Affairs, local hospitals, Caritas, the Alzheimer’s Association, the Salvation Army, workforce Solutions of Texas and many others.
The community is encouraged to come see if they are eligible for any services. People do not need to schedule in advance. Anyone needing a ride can call 254-292-1873.
