Two Mexia Police Department arrests last week began with minor wrecks and involved alleged drug use. The officers dealt with those incidents and also arrested one woman on alleged drug possession; and another woman after her husband accused her of assaulting him.
This week at Mexia LTC we started the week off playing hallway bowling on Monday morning. Residents played hallway bingo on Monday afternoon. We were to read Bible study notes sent by Bob Kersten on Tuesday morning on a room-to-room basis. Residents were to have bean-bag toss in the hallway on Tuesday afternoon.
Tell your garage sale aficionado friends about the big garage sale coming up this Friday and Saturday, Aug 7-8, in the parking lot of the Mexia State Supported Living Center’s General Store. The location is 200 E. Rusk in Mexia, one short block west of Gibbs Memorial Library’s permanent location.
Longtime psychologists Dr. Andrew Griffin and Dr. Charlotte Kimmel have years of experience between them dealing with clients at the Mexia State Supported Living Center and more recently at the Palestine Regional Medical Center, where they work several times a month. The married couple shared some of that experience with the Rotary Club of Mexia, specifically about helping determine if a client is competent enough to stand trial; and even how he or she may be taught to become competent.
Although I agree with Ms. Proctor’s sentiments, I was not a co-author of the letter to the editor that you published in the July 25, 2020 edition.
