The Mexia Area Chamber of Commerce held an official Ribbon Cutting for Baby Clay’s BBQ loca 4592 Highway 14 North. The Mexia Garden Club met on Sept. 16 at First Baptist Church, Mexia, for the first time since February. It was the first meeting of the season which is also the President’s Tea, and was hosted by the President and the officers. Officers include President Patty Manley, Vice president Jackie Tidwell, Secretary Pat Cox, Treasurer Judy Speer, Parliamentarian Ed Cox; and Reporter Gayle Beene.
At the Mexia High School campus, opportunities to learn and try different fields are many.
A music and art event called Back to the Music is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Laura.
This week at Mexia LTC we started the week off with ring toss on Monday morning. Residents played hallway bingo on Monday afternoon.
