After cancelling its season last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mexia Baseball and Softball Association is heading into the 2021 campaign with a new affiliate and possibly more teams than it had during its last active season in 2019.
Mexia Garden Club President Patty Manley presents Mexia Sonic owner-operator Javonte Mask the Club’s Civic Pride Award for January-February 2021. It was a beautiful winter day, and the roses were in full bloom. The pampas grass was waving in the wind– another lovely day in Mexia!
The following area students received degrees during the 2020 Fall semester at Sam Houston State University.
The four Thornton sisters – Janice, Betty, Bonnie and Carolyn – like a challenge. They grew up in Point Enterprise, and from a young age they challenged each other in imaginative games, sports and entertainment. Now they all have a passion for making quilts, and they task each other and members of their family quilting bee in making certain blocks for their annual get-together.
