The December sales tax returns in the Bistone counties are still mainly in the black, with Mexia down less than a percentage point and Coolidge down more than 6 percentage points for the month.

The Mexia Garden Club awarded the Most Creative Outdoor Christmas Lighting in their annual contest to Phillip and Docia Bain at 907 S. Ross.
