Bistone’s cities are well into the black for the most part as far as sales tax returns from the state of Texas are concerned. Only two cities are still in the red and just by a touch: Mexia is up 17.55% for the month ,but down 0.67% for the year. Wortham is down 6.81% for the month and down 0.81% for the year.
WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden on Thursday signed into law a massive spending bill, intended to offset the health and economic damage inflicted by the COVID-19 pandemic, that will send direct payments to millions of Texans and billions of dollars in aid for state and local governments and schools.
While Gov. Gregg Abbott has lifted the statewide mandate to wear a mask in public and allowed all businesses to operate at full capacity, many businesses, schools and other entities say they will continue to require that masks be worn. Abbott issued the order last week, effective March 10.
Melinda Richardson, bee-keeper and owner of Richardson Bee Farm has accumulated 130 hives and wants to have 230 hives with splits by the end of the month.
