The strict COVID restrictions that were in place over the past year kept the residents of nursing homes like Mexia’s The Manor virtually locked in, but with the restrictions loosened, residents are finally able to take outings again.

Mexia police officers responded to a call Thursday morning, April 8, a few minutes after 8 a.m. from the Mexia High School, where a man allegedly aimed a gun at several students. Police resolved that issue last week and also a separate alleged assault of a woman by her husband; and another arrest happened on an active warrant for a parole violator.
