In April 1965, Mexia resident John Manning’s 82nd Airborne Division was stationed in the Dominican Republic following the assassination of dictator Rafael Trujillo.
Central Texas suffered severe thunderstorms, which included high winds, hail and heavy rain Monday night, March 21. The storm left some Mexia residents without power for a period of time and a utility pole damaged at Hughes City Park.
