The Mexia Fire Department responded to a fire alarm about 4 p.m. Monday, July 25, at Parkview Regional Hospital, city manager Eric Garretty said.
Some Mexia High School students toured various workplaces in Limestone County last week to view for themselves various fields of work represented locally. The activities were part of Navarro College South’s Career Launch Academy, a program intended to expose students to different lines of work they may not be familiar with.

Dear Heloise: I read your column in today’s Marshall News Messenger about various uses for a potato masher, and it reminded me of the things I use my pastry blender for. When I make peanut butter cookies, I use my pastry blender to make the crisscrosses on top of the cookies. It rolls from side to side and is much quicker and easier to use than a fork.
