The Dunbar-Douglass Alumni Association held its first reunion and parade in Mexia since 2019 over the weekend.
June Yard of the Month

The Mexia Garden Club has selected Sheryl and Marcus Sheffields’ home at 1778 FM 1365 as Yard of the Month for June. The Sheffield’s modern Texas farmhouse features sculpted flower beds, and sweeping prairie views from the front and back porches. The Sheffields recently built home was professionally landscaped by DJ Thomas in Spring 2022. Dwarf yaupon and Burford hollies anchor the inviting front porch, while several varieties of roses, hydrangea, salvia, and liriope fill the beds. Two magnolia trees, planted in memory of Sheryl’s parents, frame the front of their home.
