Starbucks in Mexia celebrated its one-year anniversary Dec. 13 with a ribbon-cutting event and free samples. Members of the Mexia Area Chamber of Commerce and executive director Traci LaFoy mingled with staff, enjoyed samples of coffee and sweet treats and helped to observe the commemoration.
West Lake Limestone Volunteer Fire Department received a grant through the Texas A&M Forest Service Rural Volunteer Fire Department Assistance Program to purchase training aids. The $10,000 grant aided in the purchase of an Intelligent Training System Base Unit and controller.
