The Mexia girls’ basketball team experienced a scoring drought over the final three quarters Friday night and lost to Palestine, 34-29, at the Mexia High School gym.
Kevin Garcia scored three goals to help the Mexia soccer team to its first win of the season, a 4-2 decision over Waco Connally at the Wildcat Invitational in Palestine Friday.
Although they were involved in different types of games, the Coolidge boys’ and girls’ basketball teams both scored home victories over Mt. Calm on Friday.
