Coolidge’s Johnson wins Mr. Texas Player of the Week

It was announced on Monday that Coolidge basketball player Devonta Johnson was named Chicken Express Mr. Texas Basketball Player of the Week for Week 5 of the season. The honor was given out by Dave Campbell’s Texas Basketball. In a game against Grace Academy in the Bruceville Eddy Tournament during the opening week of December, Johnson enjoyed an exceptional performance. He totaled 43 points, eight rebounds, five steals, one assist, and one blocked shot. Johnson and Coolidge continued the season Tuesday night with a district-opening contest at Oakwood.
