Coming off a week when their game was cancelled, the Coolidge Yellowjackets will have to be ready for anything when they travel to Oakwood for a 7:30 p.m. game Friday.
Gustavo Martinez won the boys’ race at the Teague Invitational on Saturday and the Blackcats came within one point of winning the team championship.
The Mexia volleyball team lost in three sets to state-ranked Bremond on Tuesday night at Bremond. Game scores were 25-17, 25-16, 25-20.
Bremond is ranked No. 7 in the state in Class 2A.
The Mexia junior varsity and freshmen football teams lost to Navasota in games played at Blackcat Field on Thursday night.
LeMarion Miller ran for two touchdowns in the first half and threw two touchdown passes to Trey Holdman in the second half as Mexia got its first win of the season 38-14 at Navasota on Friday night
