Wortham running back Tanner Bean had another stellar game, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Bulldogs from losing to Bremond, 64-30, in a District 10-2A, Division II contest at Wortham on Wednesday night. The loss dropped Wortham to 3-4 overall and 1-2 in district. Bremond improved to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in district.
The Wortham volleyball team finished second in District 14-2A after being swept by Bremond on Thursday night at Wortham. Set scores were 25-14, 25-19, 25-10.
The Mexia football team’s bye this week is a double-edged sword.
Wortham faces a tall task tonight when it hosts Bremond at 6 p.m. in a District 10- 2A, Division II contest.
The Wortham volleyball team has won five consecutive district championships.
