The Wortham volleyball team had Rio Vista on the ropes during their area playoff match at Italy on Tuesday night.
Mexia girls’ basketball coach Carlos Daniels has helped guide some pretty good teams during his 18 years of coaching, including the 2013 Mexia state championship team, for which he was an assistant coach.
Coming into this year, Wortham football coach Chad Coker and his team wanted to prove that last year’s playoff berth, the first for the Bulldogs in seven years, was no fluke.
