Coolidge’s Morgan Ward played at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Victory Bowl volleyball game on June 4 at Waco University High School.
The True Defenders of the Week based on their work during the opening week of summer strength and conditioning workouts are Deyonna Davis for the Ladycats and Xavier West for the Blackcats. Head coach Aaron Nowell says, “Both have shown exceptional work ethic and character on a daily basis this week.” Davis plays basketball and West plays football and competes in powerlifting.

Boys in the sixth through eighth grades who attended the Mexia ISD Summer Soccer Camp at Blackcat Field on Saturday take time out for a photo after the camp. Conducted by Mexia soccer coach T.J. Sadler and the rest of the soccer coaches, the camp also featured Ladycat and Blackcat players serving as instructors. It was the first of several summer camps that will be put on by Mexia ISD coaches.
