Debbie Sue Nash was born Sept. 2, 1955, in Corsicana, to Bobby Lee Jacobs and Patsy Jo Jacobs. Debbie attended Oakwood ISD until her junior year when the family moved to Coolidge. Debbie graduated a year early in 1972 even though she walked with her original class in 1973.
Barbara Evelyn Jones, of Mart, passed away April 22, 2022, in Waco, at the age of 83. Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at the Prairie Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Smith officiating.
Joe C. Eakin III was born in Waco on July 27, 1931, to Anne Pearl Wiggins Eakin and Joe Cecil Eakin Jr. He passed into eternity on April 14, 2022. His childhood was spent in Waco, Chilton and Marlin, where he graduated from Marlin High School in 1949. He entered Baylor University in 1949, majoring in history, and married Meriam Elder in 1953 in Kilgore. He graduated from Baylor University in 1954 and continued his education, receiving a bachelor of Divinity in 1957 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kent. He pastored Baptist churches in East Sabine, Tenaha and Mexia. He and his wife moved to Tyler in 1989 where they have been longtime members and supporters of Marvin United Methodist Church.
Nettie Florence Gamble Jones, 93, of Tyler, formally of Mexia, passed away Friday, April 15, 2022 in Tyler. Florence was born January 10, 1929 to Mose and Nettie Gamble. She grew up in the Mexia area and graduated from Mexia High School. Florence married Roy (Sonny) Jones on July 15, 1950 and they spent many happy years together prior to his death on May 3, 2018. They were blessed with two children, Kathy and Kenny.
This year’s extraordinary Easter season became even more memorable when our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, welcomed Monta Jo Seale Dunn, 90, into His presence and her eternal home. She has long been His daughter, her family’s Mom and Mimmie and a treasured friend to legions.
